Greenbutton

GreenButton is a new plugin that builds the power of a Supercomputer into Geneious. It allows you to complete intensive analyses in a fraction of the time it would normally take you – and it's just as easy as running the analyses on your desktop computer.

How does it work?

GreenButton allows you to run your analyses on Microsoft's Windows Azure platform. The job is submitted to Windows Azure right from within Geneious via the GreenButton plugin. From there it is distributed across several cores where it is processed. When the job is complete, the results will be automatically delivered to your copy of Geneious, and you can also download the files from the Green Button website.

How much does it cost?

GreenButton uses a pre-pay system and charges US 18¢ per core hour.

Instructions:

1. Download Geneious
2. Install the GreenButton plugin: ools -> Plugins... in Geneious
3. If you want to use MrBayes, Install the latest MrBayes plugin: Tools -> Plugins...
4. Create an account on the GreenButton website
5. Run MrBayes or ClustalW in Geneious and select "On GreenButton" at the top of the options dialog for your job.

To check the status of your job and download the results, click on "Operations" in the Sources panel on the left of the Geneious window.
